AI or Not AI? Practical Judgment for Administrative Professionals. How to identify strong AI use cases, validate outputs and build accountability into AI-assisted workflows Session Description: AI tools are now common in professional work, but many conversations still focus on what AI can do or how to prompt it. For administrative professionals, the more important question is often when and where AI is actually useful. In busy administrative environments, small, thoughtful uses of AI in the right places can create more value than broad or flashy applications that are difficult to validate, govern or trust. This session will introduce a practical framework for judging AI use cases in clinical academic administration. We will look at how to identify tasks that are well-suited to generative AI, including work that involves ambiguity, messy information or repeated effort. We will also examine how to validate AI outputs responsibly, especially when accuracy, interpretation, institutional trust and accountability matter. Through practical examples, participants will explore why some seemingly obvious AI uses can be inefficient or risky, while some less obvious uses can be highly effective when placed properly within a workflow. The goal is to help participants think more strategically about AI: not only asking “What can AI do?” but “Where does AI belong in our work, what should remain people-led, and how do we make the output dependable?

About the Session: Understanding and Supporting Neurodiversity in the Workplace Workplaces are increasingly recognizing the importance of understanding and supporting neurodiversity as a key component of building healthy, inclusive, and high-performing teams. Neurodiversity recognizes the natural variation in how people think, process information, learn, and interact with the world, including individuals with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), among others. Neurodivergent individuals bring unique strengths—including creativity, innovation, and problem-solving—but traditional workplace practices can unintentionally create barriers that affect wellbeing, engagement, and performance. This session will explore how leaders and colleagues can better understand neurodiversity and create workplaces where diverse ways of thinking are recognized, supported, and valued.
